Philips have today announced the re-launch of their BDM4370UP display, now with a new low price point. It will be available in stores across the UK and Ireland at a very competitive price of £579. This is a 34″ ultrawide monitor with an IPS panel, aimed at home and office work alike.

The panel offers a 3440 x 1440 resolution and is sufficiently wide to accommodate large spreadsheets, side-by-side chart comparisons, detailed CAD-CAM operations, or all of them at once. The MultiView feature further adds to the monitor’s versatility by enabling users to hook up multiple devices for simultaneous on-screen viewing. Expert multi-taskers are sure to love this feature, which promises to boost productivity or even allows users to combine work and entertainment on a single screen. And just in case they need a little extra space, users can take advantage of the BDM3470UP’s ultra-narrow bezel to tile the screen with additional monitors for an even larger workspace — or for a truly immersive gaming experience.

The screen also comes equipped with SmartUniformity, a special feature to eliminate colour and brightness fluctuations and assure photographers, graphic artists, designers, and other visual arts professionals that they can have full confidence in the colour accuracy of their images.

Spec wise the IPS panels offers a 5ms G2G response time, 60Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 320 cd/m2 brightness. 178/178 viewing angles, 1.07b colour depth and standard sRGB gamut.

Users of the Philips BDM3470UP will be able to make full use of the monitor’s capabilities with the greatest of ease, thanks to an array of comfort and connectivity features. To ease the physical strain of a long day of computer work, the monitor is equipped with a SmartErgoBase that lets users tilt, swivel, and rotate the monitor, as well as lower it to nearly desk level, for just the right angle and height. With its handy cable management feature, the base even cuts down on workspace clutter — just one of the BDM3470UP’s many convenient solutions. It also comes equipped with Super-Speed USB 3.0, which provides transfer rates nearly 10 times faster than the USB 2.0 standard. The screen has 2x USB 3.0 (1 with fast charging) and 2x USB 2.0 ports.

The monitor is HDMI-ready (v2.0) with all the required hardware to accept high-quality digital video and audio transmitted over a single cable from a PC or all manner of AV sources. There are also a DisplayPort, VGA and DL-DVI connections available along with an audio input and headphone output. The Philips BDM3470UP is equipped with 2x stereo speakers audio.

The Philips BDM3470UP is already available with an RRP of £579.
