This screen was originally showcased back in August at IFA. This month Philips announces in more detail the launch of the Philips 276C8 monitor with USB-C. “From its stylish, bezel-free aesthetics, to its USB-C connectivity, to its spectacular picture quality, the Philips 276C8 offers an ideal blend of design and performance.”

Built with virtually no surrounding frame, its edge-less Zero Bezel look is not only aesthetically attractive but offers the advantage of a more expansive picture and a larger workspace while facilitating seamless tiling for multi-monitor setups. The monitor is also incredibly slim, measuring a mere 6.1 mm and presenting an attractive contemporary appearance that complements all manner of work and living spaces. The monitor’s thin, stylish panel and geometric stand design earned it a 2018 Red Dot Design Award, which recognises the best in design and business.

The screen is 27″ in size and features a 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS technology panel. There is support for AMD FreeSync but the screen only has a max refresh rate of 75Hz as it is not really aimed at gamers. There is a wide colour gamut backlight offered which according to the specs can deliver a gamut equal to 131% of the sRGB reference (so about 90 – 95% or so of the DCI-P3 reference). In other specs there is a 4ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 d/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and 16.7m colour depth.

To ensure that users can enjoy the Philips 276C8 without fearing for their vision, the monitor also offers several features designed with users’ well-being in mind, such as LowBlue Mode and EasyRead technology.

For connectivity there are 1x USB type-C v3.2, 1x HDMI 2.0 and 1x HDMI 1.4 provided along with an audio in and audio out connection. PiP and PbP modes are supported as well. The stand has only a basic tilt function.

The Philips 276C8 monitor will be available from December with an RRP of £329
