Eizo Launch New 34″ and 37.5″ Ultrawide Monitors in Their FlexScan Line-up
Eizo have unveiled two new curved ultrawide screens in their premium FlexScan line-up, aimed at professional users with a focus on productivity and long-term reliability. The flagship EV3851X model is a (now very rare) 37.5” ultrawide screen with a 2300R curvature and is built around an IPS LCD technology panel with a 3840 x 1600 resolution, whilst the EV3451X utilises the same IPS panel whilst offering a 34” ultrawide sized screen, a 3800R curvature and a 3440 x 1440 resolution.
Not only do they offer great specs but they also boast a world’s first 7-year warranty, for peace of mind, and an eco-friendly design to minimise their environmental impact.
EIZO EV3851X and EV3451X Specs
The EV3851X is a 37.5” ultrawide screen with a 24:10 aspect ratio and built around an IPS LCD technology panel. This is a rare size nowadays but a popular option in the past with some owners. It offers a 3840 x 1600 resolution, 111 PPI pixel density, 60Hz refresh rate, 5ms G2G response time spec, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB and 96% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces.
It also features pre-set display modes for various workflows including Display P3, the colour standard used by Apple devices, as well as DCI-P3 and BT.709. You can seamlessly switch between these modes using the buttons on the front of the monitor.
The EV3451X is a 34” sized ultrawide curved screen with an IPS panel, 3440 x 1440 resolution, 109 PPI pixel density, 21:9 aspect ratio, 100Hz refresh rate, 5ms G2G response time spec, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and a standard colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB colour space. It also supports BT.709, the standard for HD video production for content creation and video preview tasks.
Both of these models are available in a white or black design aesthetic, depending on the colour of your set-up, and offer a range of tilt, height and swivel adjustments from the stand. They also come equipped with a number of features to help reduce eye fatigue including Auto Brightness Control which automatically adjusts the screen to the ideal brightness level when the ambient brightness changes throughout the day, ‘Paper Mode’ to reduce the amount of blue light emitted, and Flicker-Free technology.
They both offer a 7-year warranty for long term protection and an eco-friendly design with the use of recycled materials in both the product and the packaging affording it certifications from a number of globally recognised sustainability standards.
Connectivity
Both models come with an array of connectivity options too including 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 1.4 and 1x USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 94W power delivery). There is also a 4 port USB Hub with an additional USB Type-C data port (15W) and 3x USB Type-A ports. The screen also features 2x 2W integrated speakers and a headphone jack. There is also PbP support, a built-in KVM switch function and a built-in RJ45 LAN port.
Availability and pricing
It is anticipated that the EV3851X will be available for shipping in July and it is listed on some sites at a cost of £1560.99 GBP whilst the EV3451X is expected to be available in the autumn, with no news on pricing on this one at this time.
