Some information has appeared online this week about a new gaming monitor in Asus’ popular ROG Swift lineup. The PG329Q will be 32″ in size and feature a 2560 x 1440 resolution “Fast IPS” technology panel, including a quoted 1ms G2G response time spec and 175Hz refresh rate. It will also support variable refresh rates from both AMD and NVIDIA systems and is expected to include NVIDIA’s ‘G-sync Compatible’ certification level.

The screen also offers Asus’ ELMB-sync technology allowing for a strobing motion blur reduction backlight that can be used at the same time as VRR in gaming. There is also expected to be a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification which means there will be some kind of backlight local dimming (edge-lit) to support some improved dynamic range, along with the required 600 cd/m2 peak brightness in HDR, high coverage DCI-P3 colour gamut (98% is quoted) and 10-bit colour depth support.

It is a direct alternative to the Acer Predator XB323U which we brought you news about recently.

More information and details when we get it. No word on pricing or release dates yet.
