Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDPG Showcased with 27″ 1440p 500Hz QD-OLED Panel
Originally published 4 January 2025, last updated 21 May 2025

Announced somewhat quietly back at CES 2025 in January, but then showcased properly at Computex 2025 in May, Asus have unveiled their new ROG Strix XG27AQDPG. This is a 27″ (accurately 26.5″) sized screen with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 500Hz refresh rate. It’s built around a new Samsung Display QD-OLED panel and will offer the highest refresh rates currently available from OLED monitors.
XG27AQDPG Specs and features

Additional specs announced at this time include a 0.03ms G2G response time, a 10-bit colour depth and wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The new screen features their new ROG OLED Care Pro technology that includes the Neo Proximity Sensor that uses wavelength detection to accurately measure a user’s distance to the monitor. If no user is detected, the monitor automatically switches to a black screen to reduce the risk of burn-in. Lastly, the XG27AQDPG includes a 3-year warranty with burn-in cover.

OLED Anti-flicker 2.0
The new screen includes their new ROG OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 technology that minimizes onscreen flicker for comfortable gaming and viewing experiences. It leverages an advanced luminance compensation algorithm to dynamically boost pixel brightness during refresh rate fluctuations, resulting in 20% less flicker compared to previous generation panels for more uniform visuals without sacrificing input lag and refresh rates. The Refresh Rate Cap feature caps the monitor refresh rate to reduce onscreen flicker. It has three preset ranges (High / Mid / Off) to suit individual preferences.
Connectivity
The monitor boasts extensive connectivity options including DisplayPort 1.4 with Display Stream Compression (DSC), and HDMI 2.1. The inclusion of DisplayWidget Center software allows users to intuitively adjust monitor settings and OLED Care Pro functions via a mouse.

Pricing and Availability
Updated 18 Aug 2025 – the screen has started to appear in some retailers, priced at $899.99 USD. You can check latest availability and pricing using our affiliate link here.
