AOC Gaming have expanded their budget friendly ‘Gaming G4’ line-up and introduced two further ultrawide displays, this time aimed at both gaming and productivity. The CU34G4CA and the CU34G4ZCA both feature a 34” ultrawide Fast VA Panel with a 1500R curvature and 3440 x 1440 resolution, with the CU34G4CA model offering an 180Hz refresh rate and the CU34G4ZCA reaching a higher 250Hz (overclocked).

As well as bringing high refresh rates for gaming, they also incorporate a number of useful connectivity features, including USB Type-C and KVM switch, to aid your working day making these monitors suitable for switching between immersive gaming and hybrid work set-ups. Both models are almost identical in specs apart from a few key features such as refresh rate and HDMI input which we will detail below.

AOC Gaming CU34G4CA and CU34G4ZCA Specs

Both models are 34” in size with a 1500R curvature and built around a Fast VA LCD technology panel. They also feature a 3440 x 1440 resolution, ~109 PPI pixel density, 21:9 aspect ratio, 1ms G2G response time spec (0.5 MPRT in the CU34G4CA and 0.3 MPRT in the CU34G4ZCA), 2500:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing and an 8-bit colour depth for 16.7 million colours. There is minimal HDR support with the screens only offering certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 tier.

The respective 180Hz and 250Hz (OC) refresh rates are supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates from compatible systems whilst AOC’s G-menu allows you to easily customise your set-up to meet your personalised gaming requirements.

The displays offer a wide range of adjustments including tilt, height and swivel and they are equipped with Flicker-free and Low Blue Light technologies to help reduce eye strain and fatigue.

César Acosta, Senior Gaming Product Manager at AGON, AOC, states: “The 1500R curve and 21:9 canvas are made for the games where immersion matters most, from sims to sprawling open worlds. What is new here is that we have added 90 W USB-C, so the same screen that pulls you into a race can power a work laptop the next morning. You get an immersive, fast gaming monitor first, and a genuinely capable workspace on top,”

Connectivity

Both models have 1x DisplayPort 1.4, USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 90W power delivery), KVM switch function and an integrated USB hub with a number of USB data ports. In addition they also include 2x 5W speakers and a headphone jack for audio. HDMI input varies with the CU34G4CA model having 2x HDMI 2.0 and the CU34G4ZCA model offering 2x HDMI 2.1 connectivity.

The AOC CU34G4CA and the CU34G4ZCA will be available in August with the CU34G4CA priced at £289.99 GBP and the CU34G4ZCA being priced at £329.99 GBP.
