AOC Q27G4SM Unveiled with 27” QHD 340Hz Fast IPS Panel and Mini LED Backlight

AOC have recently launched a new gaming monitor in their ever expanding G4 series. The AOC Q27G4SM is a 27” sized ‘Fast IPS’ panel, offering a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 340Hz refresh rate. It also features an impressive 1,152 local dimming zone Mini LED backlight to offer high-end HDR performance and brightness.

AOC Q27G4SM Specs

This is a 27” sized screen with a flat format and is built around a ‘Fast IPS’ LCD technology panel. It has a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 109 PPI pixel density, 1ms G2G response time spec (0.5ms MPRT), 1000:1 contrast ratio,  450 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth, featuring 1.07 billion colours, and a wide colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E<2 colour accuracy too.

The 340Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems. Other gaming features include Dynamic Crosshair, Sniper Scope, Dark Area Control, Enhanced Shadow Detail, Low Input Latency, Game Colour, Frame Counter. In addition it also comes equipped with AOC’s G-Menu, allowing you to customise your gaming set-up.

The 1,152-zone Mini LED backlight and Quantum Dot technology offers high end HDR capabilities in the LCD monitor space, with VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and a peak brightness spec of 1200 nits.

The screen offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and includes Flicker-Free and Low Blue Light technologies to help reduce eye strain.

Connectivity

For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 and a Headphone jack. There is also PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices.

Availability and pricing

This monitor has only appeared on AOC’s China website but details of a further global roll-out and pricing are awaited.
