Acer have today announced their new X27U F5 gaming monitor, a 27″ sized QD-OLED display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 500Hz refresh rate, what Acer are referring to as an “UltraSpeed monitor”. It’s an alternative to models we’ve seen announced from many other manufacturers this year, and that we expect to see heavily showcased at Computex next week.

Acer Predator X27U F5 Specs

The screen is 26.5″ in size (27″ class) and built around a 3rd Generation 2025 Samsung Display QD-OLED panel, with a flat format. It’s got a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, a 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3.

The very high 500Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems with certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ tier achieved.

For HDR it is certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, giving some modest improvements in brightness compared with previous TB400 certified QD-OLED monitors. It includes a 1000 nits peak brightness spec as well.

For connectivity there are 2x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 65W power delivery). There’s also an audio output and 2x USB data ports. The screen also features integrated 2x 5W speakers and the stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.

Pricing and Availability

The Predator X27U F5 monitor will be available in EMEA in Q3 around October time, starting at EUR 899, £799.99 in the UK and in China in Q3, starting at RMB 5,999. Pricing and availability for North America will be provided closer to market availability we are told in Q3.
