Pixio have announced a new model in their line-up, aimed at gamers. The Pixio PX259 Prime is 24.5″ in size and features an IPS technology panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 280Hz overclocked refresh rate (240Hz native). This is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems (FreeSync Premium certified). An added blur reduction backlight option is also included but cannot be used at the same time as VRR.

Spec wise the screen offers a 1ms G2G advertised response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut. HDR10 inputs are selected by there is no local dimming and not even any colour enhancements like a wide gamut so there’s no meaningful HDR performance here.

The stand includes only a basic tilt adjustment although can be removed for VESA 75 x 75mm mounting if you’d rather. For connectivity there are 2x DisplayPort 1.2a, 2x HDMI 2.0 and a headphone jack.

The screen is listed as coming soon on Pixio’s website at a price of $299.99 USD.
