Philips Evnia 32M2N8900 Unveiled at Gamescom with a 32″ 4K 240Hz QD-OLED Panel

At Gamescom 2024 this week in Cologne, Germany we had chance to see the new Philips Evnia 32M2N8900 which was being launched. It’s a new 32″ sized QD-OLED monitor in the Philips Evnia 8000 range, boasting a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. This range of screens offers a unique white design, and a range of top-end features including the company’s unique ‘Ambiglow’ lighting system which syncs with the content on the screen.

Philips Evnia 32M2N8900 specs
The screen is 31.5″ in size with a flat format. It’s built around a Samsung Display third gen QD-OLED panel offering a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness (SDR, 100% APL), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The screen comes factory calibrated with a dE <2.

The high 240Hz refresh rate of the panel is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates from compatible systems. The screen also offers a 1000 nits peak brightness for HDR, with the screen meeting the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification tier.
For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort, 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 90W power delivery), 2x HDMI 2.1, 2x USB data ports and an audio out connection. The screen also includes some 2x 5W integrated speakers with DTS sound. The screen is backed by a 3-year warranty which includes burn-in cover.
Additional features including Ambiglow lighting

Ambiglow adds a new dimension to your viewing experience. The innovative Ambiglow technology enhances the content on the screen by creating a halo of light from the monitor. Its fast processor analyses the incoming image content and continuously adapts the colour and brightness of the emitted light to match the image. Especially suited for watching movies, sports or playing games, Philips Ambiglow offers you a unique and immersive viewing experience.

In addition, to improve users’ comfort, the monitors’ height adjustable stands offer ergonomic adjustments including tilt, and swivel adjustment. The LowBlue mode and Flicker-Free technology aim to alleviate the potential adverse effects caused by blue light emissions or flickering.
