Gigabyte have released in some regions a new model in their gaming display lineup. The Aorus FI27Q-X is 27″ in size and boasts a 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS-type panel combined with a 240Hz refresh rate. The screen also offers a 0.3ms MPRT advertised response time spec thanks to a blur reduction mode and a wide colour gamut covering 93% DCI-P3. The screen uses adaptive sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems.

The IPS panel is from Sharp (their LQ270T1JG04 in fact) which marks an interesting alternative to widespread AUO and LG.Display IPS panels. It remains to be seen how this performs in practice though.

Spec wise the screen offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 1ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 10-bit colour depth (8-bit+FRC) and wide colour gamut covering 93% DCI-P3, 142% sRGB and 100% Adobe RGB reference spaces. The 0.3ms MPRT spec requires the use of the included Aim Stabilizer strobe backlight setting, which can’t be used at the same time as Adaptive-Sync.

The monitor includes HBR3 (High Bit Rate 3) support via DisplayPort 1.4, allowing it to support a 10-bit colour signal, 240Hz refresh rate and HDR simultaneously.

The rear of the monitor includes ‘RGB Fusion’ LEDs, with some illuminated shapes to the side of the stand, at the side of the stand neck and a central AORUS Falcon logo. The colour and flashing patterns can be controlled in the OSD or via the OSD Sidekick software. The stand offers tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. There are 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0 ports offered along with a headphone jack and mic input.
