Eizo ColorEdge CG3100X Launched with a 30.5″ 4K IPS Panel for Editing and Post-production Environments.

Eizo have recently announced the latest model in their ColorEdge series. The CG3100X is a colour management monitor aimed at professional and creative users and features a 30.5” screen size built around an IPS technology panel. It offers a (true) 4K 4096 x 2160 resolution which is sometimes referred to as “DCI 4K” to distinguish it from the mainstream 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolutions you will see. It offers HDR workflow support for editing and post-production environments.
Eizo ColorEdge CG3100X Specs

In other specs the 30.5” sized 4K 4096 x 2160 resolution IPS panel. This is more than four times that of Full HD (1920 x 1080) and it makes it an optimal solution for creating, editing, and referencing 2D and 3D CGI, VFX, compositing, and colour grading.
The screen has a 17:9 aspect ratio, a 152 PPI pixel density, 15ms G2G response time spec, 60Hz refresh rate, 1800:1 contrast ratio, 500 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, a 10-bit colour depth with 1.07 billion colours and a wide colour gamut covering 97% of the Adobe RGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. Colour mode presets can easily be changed via the switches on the front of the monitor, enabling straightforward colour management for each project.
For HDR content the monitor supports the hybrid-log gamma (HLG) transfer for broadcasts and the perceptual quantisation (PQ) curve for more precise images.

The monitor is also equipped with Eizo’s award-winning built-in calibration sensor technology. The monitor’s built-in sensor can be set to calibrate the monitor automatically at designated times which eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and ensures your screen stays colour-accurate. In addition, the sensor swings onto the screen, taking up minimal space and allowing you to continue working even during calibration. Calibration can be carried out using their ColorNavigator 7 colour management software, which helps users ensure consistent colour accuracy and precision, calibrating the screen’s internal 3D LUT.
Other features include Colour Adjustment, Self-Calibration, Input Colour Format, YUV Colour Matrix, I/P Conversion, Picture Expansion, Nearest Neighbour, Zoom, BT.709 Gamut Warning, Luminance Warning, Marker and Pixel Inspection. Further details are available on Eizo’s website.
The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. The sleek design with punched metal on the back enhances airflow for heat management, and the display comes with a 5-year warranty. The monitor also comes with a detachable light-shielding hood which helps prevent glare on the screen.

Connectivity
For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode and 94W power delivery), 4x USB data ports, 1x RJ45 Ethernet port and 1x headphone jack.
