Recently BenQ have announced their new XL2546S, the updated version of the XL2546. Since its release, the ZOWIE XL2546 has become the monitor of choice for professional First-Person-Shooter (FPS) e-Sports tournaments. The new XL2546S has the same features as XL2546 with the addition of Dynamic Accuracy Plus (DyAc+), BenQ’s blur reduction backlight technology. The XL2546S is 24.5″ in size and features a 240Hz refresh rate TN Film panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

DyAc makes vigorous in-game actions such as spraying less blur. This allows gamers to see the position of crosshair and impact points more clearly which can help with recoil control. DyAc+ is based on this same technology and through panel optimization, provides gamers with a different option for actions such as spray control. You can read more about their technology here if you want to know more.

Spec wise the TN Film panel offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 0.5ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 320 cd/m2 brightness, 170/160 viewing angles and a 16.7m colour depth. Adaptive-sync is supported for variable refresh rates from both AMD and NVIDIA systems (48 – 240Hz range with LFC).

There are DL-DVI (pretty rare to see that nowadays), 2x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort 1.2 connections provided as well as a headphone and mic jack. There are also 2x USB ports provided. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.

the XL2546S also comes with a detachable ‘shield’ shading hood to help you focus on the screen and cut out distractions. There’s a range of gaming extras and settings available as well to enhance your experience.

No confirmation of release date or pricing yet.
