BenQ have a new professional grade monitor listed as coming soon on their website. The SW321C will form part of their ‘Studio’ line-up aimed at image editing and colour critical work, and offers a range of advanced features and specs. The SW321C is 32″ in size and features a 3840 x 2160 UltraHD resolution IPS panel, with wide colour gamut.

The backlight offers a colour space covering 100% sRGB (and beyond), 99% Adobe RGB and 97% DCi-P3. In other specs there is a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles

HDR10 support is talked about on the spec page but we suspect this is nothing more than the ability to accept an HDR input source, but without any form of local dimming from the backlight. It does at least offer a wider colour space, but don’t expect any real HDR performance here.

It’s common for these professional grade screens to feature hardware calibration support, although “software calibration” is listed on the coming soon page. Time will tell on the final specs here.

For connectivity there is USB type-C, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 offered, along with a USB 3.0 hub. There is also an integrated SD card reader and the screen comes packaged with a shading hood and useful “puck” control for your OSD menu and settings.

More info on specs, availability and pricing when we get it.
