Asus TUF Gaming VG35VQ with 35″ Ultrawide 100Hz Panel and ELMB

Announced at this year’s Gamescom event was the new Asus TUF Gaming VG35VQ. This is a 35″ ultrawide model with a 3440 x 1440 resolution VA panel. It has a 100Hz refresh rate and support for adaptive-sync so you can use it on both NVIDIA G-sync and AMD FreeSync systems. Also included is support for Asus’ ELMB” (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology which offers a strobing blur reduction backlight.

Updated news piece 24/9/19 – Contrary to the information we had at the time this news article was published, this does not appear to be the latest “ELMB-sync” technology and so cannot be used at the same time as variable refresh rates. We do have final specs and further information though in this updated news piece.

The official spec page for this screen is now available on This confirms the specs and features as follows. The screen is 35″ in size and has a 1800R curvature and 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio. There is a 3440 x 1440 resolution VA technology panel offering a 2500:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth and standard sRGB colour gamut. A 1ms MPRT spec is quoted as the screen also supports Asus’ ELMB motion blur reduction backlight. The screen has a native refresh rate of 100Hz as well, with adaptive sync support for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems.

For connectivity there are 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x USB 3.0 and a headphone jack provided. Tilt, swivel and height adjustments are offered from the stand.

The VG35VQ is available to pre-order now in some regions, including at £579.15 in the UK and 644.58 Euro in Germany.
