Asus Designo MX38VC Ultrawide 37.5″ with Qi Fast Charging and Bluetooth Streaming
Asus are releasing a new screen in their ‘Designo’ range, the MX38VC. The new screen is 37.5″ in size and has a 24:10 aspect ratio and 3840 x 1600 resolution. The screen is based on an LG.Display IPS panel with a 2300R curve and has a range of features and extras that you don’t typically see on a monitor at the moment.
Spec wise the 37.5″ panels offers a 5ms G2G response time, 75Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit+FRC colour depth and standard sRGB gamut. AdaptiveSync / FreeSync is supported with a range of 52 – 75Hz, and is available using both DisplayPort and HDMI connections.
The base of the stand includes an integrated Fast Qi Wireless Charging dock (15W power) and has a downwards facing projected turquoise ‘Aurora lighting’ system above it. Only tilt adjustment is offered from the stand, and as per other Designo series screens there is no VESA mounting support unfortunately so you are limited to the provided stand and its functions. Connectivity wise there are 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x USB type-C and a headphone jack provided. 2x 10W Harmon Kardon integrated speakers are included and the screen can over support Bluetooth streaming which is a neat trick.
