AOC AGON Pro AGP257FT Offers a 24.5″ 1080p 1050Hz Esports Gaming Display

AOC have recently provided further details on their super-fast 1000Hz+ display aimed at esports gamers who have a penchant for fast-paced titles. The AGON Pro AGP257FT features a 24.5” screen and utilises an “oxide-based Fast IPS” panel, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a native 1000Hz refresh rate, which can be overclocked slightly to 1050Hz.
We first bought you news of this display back in May and further details are finally now available. This is an alternative to the LG UltraGear 25G590B which we reviewed recently.
AOC AGON Pro AGP257FT Specs

This is a 24.5” sized screen (25” class) and is built around an oxide-based ‘Fast IPS’ technology panel. According to AOC’s marketing this panel type uses “fast-response liquid crystal materials and an advanced panel architecture to drive pixels faster than conventional LCD designs, overcoming the voltage-response limits that typically hold LCD panels back at extreme refresh rates.”

In other specs it features a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 0.3ms G2G response time spec (0.1ms MPRT), 1000:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and an extended colour gamut covering 99% of the sRGB and 90% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E>2 colour accuracy.

The 1000Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems and offers support under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ scheme. It also includes MBR+ (Motion Blur Reduction Plus) technology to minimise blur. For HDR the screen comes with certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 tier and offers a limited (but better than nothing) 20-zone local dimming backlight.

Low Blue Light and Flicker-free technologies help to reduce eye strain and fatigue, whilst the model will also boast certification under the TÜV Rheinland ‘Circular Polarisation’ scheme which means that the light emitted from the monitor should apparently closely resemble that of natural light which can provided users with a healthier eye experience and more comfortable viewing experience.

The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and has a convenient headphone hook built into the side. It also includes AOC’s Light FX feature which is an RGB ambient lighting system at the back which illuminates the area behind the monitor proving you with more immersion. There is also a QuickSwitch keypad included which allows speedier access to gaming modes and pre-sets.
Connectivity

For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20), 2x HDMI 2.1 and a USB Hub with 3x USB Type-A ports. In addition there is a headphone jack for audio and PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices.
Availability and pricing
The AOC AGON Pro AGP257FT is expected to be available in Q1 2027 with details on pricing expected to be available nearer to the launch.
