These models have slipped under the radar a little bit but Samsung have recently released their new G3 models in their Odyssey gaming line-up. They are available in 24″ (24G35T) and 27″ (27G35T) sizes. We’ve already reviewed the previous Odyssey G7 models which were 27″ and 32″ sized curved displays with 240Hz VA panels and 1440p resolution. There is also the G9 which is a 49″ curved ultrawide display with 5120 x 1440 resolution and a 240Hz VA panel. Those G7 and G9 models are Samsung’s top-end gaming displays at the moment. Not everyone likes the curved format of these screens though, and the newly released G3 models offer an alternative flat format, albeit with a lower spec.

The Odyssey G3 models are available in two sizes, 24″ (27G35T model) or 27″ (27G35T model). Both have a 1920 x 1080 resolution VA panel and offers a 1ms MPRT response time spec, 144Hz refresh rate and have adaptive sync to support VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems (AMD FreeSync Premium certified). Both have a 3-side borderless design making them suitable for multi-screen setups, and as mentioned earlier these G3 models have a flat format (not curved like the G7/G9).

In other specs there is a 4000:1 contrast ratio (3000:1 on the 24″ model), 250 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth (8-bit) and as far as we can tell a standard sRGB colour gamut.

The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x HDMI 2.0 and even an old-school D-sub connection. A headphone jack is also provided.

The 27″ G3 model is available in some regions now via Amazon, as is the 24″ G3 model, also from Amazon (affiliate links).
