Dell Release Several New S-series Monitors – the S2425 and S2725 Line-up
We’re only a few months in to 2024, but Dell have already released some of their 2025 monitor line-up – at least in their naming schemes. Usually the models appear later in the year, only a few months ahead of time, but there’s a few new “25” models now available in their S line-up. They are available in sizes of 23.8″ and 27″, and are aimed at general usage and office work primarily. We will give a quick run down of these new models below.
S2425H and S2425HS
These are the 23.8″ sized models featuring a 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS panel. They have a 4ms G2G response time (extreme mode), 1500:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, a 100Hz refresh rate, 16.7m colour depth and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut.
For connectivity there are 2x HDMI 1.4 ports only which is really unusual. No DisplayPort or USB data ports at all. The screens has built in 2x 5W speakers. The H model has a simple tilt-only stand, while the HS model has a more ergonomic stand including tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
Both models are now available from Dell.com with the H model retailing for $149.99 USD while the HS model is slightly more at $169.99 USD.
S2725H and S2725HS
These models have a very similar spec to the 23.8″ smaller models discussed above. They are 27″ in size though but have the same 1920 x 1080 resolution and feature IPS panels. They also offers a 4ms G2G response time (extreme mode), 1500:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, a 100Hz refresh rate, 16.7m colour depth and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut.
Like the smaller models, for connectivity there are 2x HDMI 1.4 ports only but the screens has built in 2x 5W speakers as an added extra. The H model has a simple tilt-only stand and retails for $179.99 USD on Dell.com while the HS model has a fully adjustable stand with tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and retails for $199.99 USD.
S2725DS
This model has a more mainstream spec and is another 27″ model. This one has a higher 2560 x 1440 resolution though and is again based on an IPS panel. There is a 100Hz refresh rate and it also offers a 4ms G2G response time (extreme mode), 1500:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, a 100Hz refresh rate, 16.7m colour depth and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut.
For connectivity there is a slightly better selection here with 1x DisplayPort 1.2 and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports available. There are 2x 5W integrated speakers as well and the stand offers a fully adjustable stand with tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. This one retails for $229.99 USD on Dell.com.
