AOC K27U3FD Announced with 27” 5K Fast IPS Panel and Dual-Mode Support

AOC have recently unveiled a new hybrid monitor in their Graphic Pro U3 series aimed at both creators and gamers. This premium K27U3FD model is set to feature a 27” ‘Fast IPS’ panel with a 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution and a native 75Hz refresh rate which can be boosted to a speedy 300Hz when dropping to a QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution via a dual-mode function, resulting in a screen which delivers a great combination of ultra-clear visuals for productivity and general usage, along with a decent dual-mode option for fast-paced gaming.

This is a 27” sized screen with a flat format and is built around a ‘Fast IPS’ LCD technology panel with a “Retina class” 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution and a 218 PPI pixel density making it a great choice for professional and creative work. In other specs if offers a 1ms G2G response time spec, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour and a wide colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB and 96% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. It also comes with a factory calibrated Delta E <1 colour accuracy too. HDR support is limited with HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400 only with a peak brightness of 450 nits.

The 75Hz / 300Hz refresh rates are supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems. It also incorporates the latest MBR (Motion Blur Reduction) Sync technology which can be activated to further enhance motion clarity in competitive scenarios. MBR Sync combines the clarity of backlight strobing technologies with variable refresh rate support to offer crisp, tear-free motion.

The AOC K27U3FD features a black and silver design, with a unique “Pi-shaped” metal stand and incorporates a fully ergonomic stand with a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.

The screen is also equipped with Flicker-free and Low Blue Light technologies to help reduce eye strain and fatigue.

Connectivity

For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C (with DP Alt mode and 96W power delivery) and various USB data ports. In addition, there is a headphone jack, 2x 3W speakers, a KVM switch function and PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices.
