Acer Predator VG272UP with Nano IPS Panel and 144Hz Refresh Rate
A new screen from Acer has appeared on some Chinese store websites which looks interesting, and is likely an indication of a wider launch in other countries. The Predator VG272UP is a 27″ sized model which looks like it will be an alternative to the new LG 27GL850, and likely using the same panel. It has an advertised Nano IPS panel, 144Hz refresh rate, 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut and support for NVIDIA G-sync and AMD FreeSync.
In other specs the screen is 27″ in size and features a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness and 178/178 viewing angles. The screen is also advertised with a 1ms G2G response time, but we know to take that with a big pinch of salt based on our recent testing of the LG 27GL850 with the same spec! HDR10 support is mentioned, but like the LG model, this is nothing meaningful in terms of actual HDR capability. There are also suggestions from the early spec that it might have an added motion blur reduction mode too. There are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.0 connections offered.
