Acer Predator XB283K with 28″ IPS Panel, 4K, 144Hz Refresh Rate and HDMI 2.1
A new Acer gaming screen has appeared recently on Chinese retailer Taobao’s page. The Acer Predator XB283K is a 28″ sized screen with a 4K resolution IPS panel and 144Hz refresh rate combined. It also boasts a 1ms response time and support for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems via adaptive sync.
Acer Predator XB283K Specs
Spec wise the screen is 28″ in size and offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution. There is also a 1ms G2G response time (0.5ms G2G minimum in the ‘fastest’ mode), 1000: 1 contrast ratio, 400-450 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 1.07b 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% Adobe RGB. The screen also comes factory calibrated with a dE <1 achieved according to the spec listing.
High Refresh Rate and VRR Support
The high 144Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive sync for VRR capability from both AMD and NVIDIA systems. The screen is expected to carry the FreeSync Premium certification, but G-sync Compatible is not currently listed. A blue reduction mode is also mentioned and is expected to be featured. The presence of HDMI 2.1 means the screen can support latest generation games consoles including 4K @ 120Hz and VRR importantly.
For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 1x USB type-C (65W power delivery) and 2x HDMI 2.1 provided along with 4x USB 3.0 ports and an audio output. A ‘LightSense’ ambient light sensor is also discussed in the imagery along with a ‘ColorSense’ sensor that appears to control the colour temp depending on the time of day and ambient light conditions. 2x 2W speakers are also included and the stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
No word on availability and pricing in regions like Europe or the US yet. More info when we get it.
